The purpose of the Marketing Plan Development, which is provided by BRD Consulting is focused on the re-evaluation plan and management strategy for a commercial revitalization of the historic centres in Chieti, Vasto and Lanciano. This new project has been achieved by the collaboration between the Chamber of Commerce of Chieti and the association of the Municipalities of Chieti, Vasto and Lanciano, joined by the aim to re-evaluate its city centre and to identify the “greyfields” along with redevelopment opportunities plans. This studio process began by conducting extensive development policy analysis, based on identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the cities. The main weak points are represented by housing conditions, aging inhabitants, the distance of government offices and commercial points of sale from the city centre. Furthermore, the strong points for the revitalization of the historic centres are represented by good instruction, existing high quality niches, the presence of valuable historical, architectural and natural aspects. This commercial and development analysis includes also qualitative and quantitative marketing researches which are based on three different clusters, represented by households, workers and visitors, as well as the mapping of the points of sale located in the historic centre, in order to achieve a comprehensive report in this field. The main focus is represented by the trade and development phase along with the application of geo-marketing systems, which enable achieving the demographic and social data needed to highlight the strengths and weaknesses as well as the shopping opportunities available in the historic centre. This Marketing Plan Development has identified new strategies and swot analysis for successfully marketing downtown niches and revitalization policies in order to be acquainted with all the strengths, weaknesses and opportunities. This comprehensive analysis involved several categories such as: public administration, businesses, numerous associations and people. In conclusion, the aim of this work is to enhance the development policy method to strengthen the re -evaluation of the city centre. The establishment of public/ private associations, would operate directly in the strategic marketing decision, monitoring and evaluation plans in order to enhance the quality of project planning and management.
